HEY, I just saw ol' girl Paula Deen there in a commercial for Evine

Hey, I just saw ol’ girl Paula Deen doing a commercial for Evine! In the commercial, Dean tells everyone, “Come on by to Evine Live and buy some of my things.”

Some of the things Deen is selling are Louisiana shrimp and grit cakes, glazed ham, three-tiered coconut layered yellow cake, and a slim down version of her Southern recipes.

Folks really liked the shrimp and grit cakes and the glazed ham. The shrimp and grit cakes received four and a quarter stars out of five stars.

The glazed ham received four out of five stars, while the coconut cake received three and a quarter stars out of five stars.

Deen’s appearance on Evine comes less than three years after she let her ol’ time Southern Ways get her kicked off the Food Network TV channel.

During the deposition of a racial discrimination lawsuit filed against Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers, Deen admitted to using throwback 1950s Jim Crow Era language to describe black folks.

Deen told the opposing counsel that she has called African-American niggers. Recognizing that calling black folks niggers, now days, isn’t good PR, Deen decided to go on the Today Show and apologize for her ol’ time Dixie ways.

In an effort to squeeze out a tear from her eyes, Deen said, “I is who I is.” Needless to say, the “I is who I is” apology didn’t go over too well.

Deen’s “I is who I is” was seen as a failed attempt to identify with black folks via a generalized, racialized perception concerning black folks’ ability to correctly speak the King’s English.

Unfortunately for the queen of Southern cuisine, she quickly found herself standing on the outskirts of the cooking world.

Not only was she banished from the Food Network Channel, but several sponsors began dropping her like hot crackling cornbread.

The weight of losing money was too much for ol’ Paula Deen there to bear. So in an effort to not further jeopardize her money, Deen took some time to find a better way to navigate her ol’ time Southern ways in this new Era.

Like many Southern women in her age group, Deen is a Christian woman. And being the Southern Christian woman she is, Deen was able to find her way through these rough social terrains with the help of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Although Paula Deen decided that it would be best to rebuke that ol’ racist devil, that ol’ racist devil reared his ugly head on Deen’s facebook page.

A 2011 picture of Deen and her son Bobby, who appeared in brown face, was posted on her facebook page.

Upon learning about the post, Deen quickly fired the Shepherd for the devil, her social media manager, for his unholy doings.

Deen’s quick action on the matter was proof that God had been working on her, and that she was not going to let that ol’ racist devil tear her building down.

Evine took notice of the work the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost did on the queen of Southern cuisine.

And in the end, Evine decided to do the Christian thing and give Deen a spot on the company’s network.
